Our History

UCG Homebuyers of Pittsburgh was founded in mid 2015 after two long time investors Ryan Scialabba and Aaron Archibald met while finishing projects on the same street. As they became close friends, they learned that they both wanted to fulfill the same vision of simplifying the home selling process and providing solutions to complex real estate problems and help homeowners looking to sell their homes for cash, in any condition, on the day they choose. 

On July 28, 2015 they bought their first two houses together and formed their first company, the Urban Capital Group. After helping 100’s of homeowners sell their home much faster than the traditional route, they were able to build a team of incredible people to help fulfill their vision. 

As their company grew, they became known as The Homebuyers of Pittsburgh and have been the #1 Professional Homebuyer in Pittsburgh multiple years in a row. With an A+ BBB rating, perfect 5 star Google rating, and multiple local and national awards, their reputation and hardwork has spoke for itself.

Brad Schneider

Home Solutions Manager

Brad Schneider, Home Solutions Manager, is typically the first voice you will hear when you call to sell your Pittsburgh house. He’ll let you know how our simple 3-step process works by gathering some basic information about the house and the situation to then start putting together that information to see if we can help you sell your house in the time frame that you need to.

Brad has an extensive background in the customer service, solutions, sales, and real estate businesses. From being a marketing & advertising business owner, music producer, to building out a successful real estate career, Brad brings an abundance of experience to helping customers solve for their needs. 

Brad joined the Homebuyers of Pittsburgh team in early 2020 and immediately made an impact in the team's ability to help more people. Throughout each and every transaction he's focused on giving you the best experience possible in selling your home. 


Home Evaluation Specialist

Ryan Lauer, Home Evaluation Specialist, has an extensive career in the customer service business. He started as an associate car salesman and very quickly rose to the top of the ranks in his dealership. From there, he worked through multiple dealerships, continuing to service customers in the car business and build out sales teams.

Not feeling fulfilled, he was having conversations with his brother, Joel about wanting to get into real estate and asked if the Homebuyers of Pittsburgh team had any opportunities. Since joining the team in mid 2019, Ryan has been able to help 100's of homeowners in all different types of situations relieve the stress of selling a home.

He has a vast knowledge of different situations and can offer many options that other companies can't in the Pittsburgh area. Most importantly, he's focused on serving you - the customer - to find the best solution possible for selling your home.

Home Evaluation Specialist

Luke is a Home Evaluation Specialist at Homebuyers of Pittsburgh, where he joined the team in July of 2023. With over a decade of experience in real estate, Luke has bought and sold more than 500 homes, and his expertise in investment, renovation, and project management uniquely positions him to help clients navigate the housing market.

Luke's approach goes beyond numbers; he prioritizes understanding homeowners' situations and needs, applying his extensive knowledge to create win-win scenarios.

Since joining Homebuyers of Pittsburgh, Luke has quickly become a key player, known for his process-oriented approach and commitment to exceptional customer service. His focus is on serving you, ensuring that the selling process aligns with your specific needs.

With Luke's guidance, selling your home becomes a seamless experience, tailored to your situation and backed by a proven record of success in the Pittsburgh area.


Transaction Coordinator

Danielle Smith, Transaction Coordinator, is the team member that makes your closing go as smooth as possible. 

Danielle joined us in 2020 after having worked in the title and customer service industries. When she jumped on board, she said that she had a passion for helping people and wanted to be a part of a team that cares about their customers.

Taking our customers from "agreement to closing" involves a lot of moving parts, but Danielle is dedicated to making sure that we do everything we can to make sure files close on the day you choose.

Operations Manager 

Brandon Lohr, Operations Manager at UCG Homebuyers of Pittsburgh, is responsible for running everything "behind the scenes". You could say that he's the gel that keeps things running smooth. 

When you decide to do business with our team, Brandon works alongside Brad, Ryan, and Danielle to make sure that the closing goes as smoothly as possible and that we hit your desired closing date. 

Brandon earned his Master's in Accounting and his CPA license at Duquesne University before joining BNY Mellon as an Analyst. Tired of the corporate world, he joined our company hoping to be able to make a more measurable impact. 

Project Manager

Bill Oliverio, Project Manager at UCG Homebuyers of Pittsburgh has over 35 years of experience in residential home remodeling and building. After running his family owned general contracting business for years, he decided to join the team in mid 2017. 

Since then, Bill has been responsible for managing 150+ renovations, and ensuring that the team is producing the highest quality product that they can. 

Bill, along side Aaron and Bob, has been responsible for growing and managing our in house construction team to 10 employees and now manages 15+ renovations at a time.

Project Manager

Bob Archibald, Project Manager at UCG Homebuyers of Pittsburgh has developed into his role after joining the company in 2017. After living in California for a few years, he decided he wanted to come home to build a career alongside his older brother. 

Initially, he started out working in the field with the construction team and as the company grew, kept looking for more opportunities. Fast forward and Bob now runs right alongside Bill managing projects and ensuring that the team produces the best possible product possible. 

Since transitioning to his role, Bob has helped the company complete 100+ renovations and has continued to ensure the standard of quality that the team expects.
